BABY NAMING CEREMONIES

As an alternative to a religious birth ritual, some parents choose to celebrate their baby's arrival by holding a baby naming ceremony.

A baby naming ceremony involves:

  • Welcoming the child into the lives of family and friends.

  • Acknowledging those who will play a special role in your baby's life.

  • Facilitating any readings and speeches.

  • Any rituals, such as sand pouring, blessings or candle lighting.

  • Formally confirming the baby's name.

There are no compulsory features of a baby naming ceremony—it's up to you!
